Leon Chart Makes Sense of Seasonal Food
The Leon, a restaurant mini-chain in London, is all about seasonal, nutritional ingredients, and their cookbook aims to offer the same. This infographic from the book cleverly organizes and colorizes produce, meats, poulty, and herbs into the four seasons.
It’s one of those infographics that, a few moments after first glancing at it, you grasp how it flows and how it’s helpful. It is, of course, coming from a British restaurant and meant for British readers, so you’ll see a few unfamiliar terms and UK-specific items. But given that British weather is familiar to a lot of the northern U.S., and that many items see universal seasons (in the northern hemisphere, at least), it’s still a pretty handy chart.
You can see a larger version at the Guardian’s web site, and grab a printable PDF, as well. It makes for a nice complement to our own guide to the best times to buy food all year round (in the second half of that post).
