Changing Education Paradigms and Divergent Thinking – Sir Ken Robinson

I realize I am liking more and more these type of videos, I think I am a visual learner.  Now, this one really got me on minute [7:33] where he mentions about divergent thinking, this is something I’ve struggled for a long time because sometimes I wish I was not a divergent thinker considering the way the world sometimes moves.

…its about standarization.  I believe we need to go in the exact opposite direction, that’s what I mean in changing the paradigm.  There is a great study done recently on divergent thinker … isn’t the same thing as creativity, I define creativity as the process of having original ideas that have value.  Divergent thinking is not a synonym but its an essential capacity for creativity.  Its the ability to see lots of possible answers to a question… to think not just in linear or convergent ways, to see multiple answers not one.
